Governance DEIF Code of Conduct and internal CSR assessments in 2022 The DEIF Code of Conduct is one of the mainstays of our sustainability effort. We expect suppliers and their sub-suppliers and other cooperation partners to live up to our principles of ethical and sustainable business practices. All DEIF employees must comply with the Code of Conduct. We conduct regular training sessions to refresh the main elements of the Code of Conduct, which is also part of the onboarding programme for all new employees in the global organisation. In 2022, we conducted internal CSR assessments of the DEIF companies in the six countries, where DEIF runs a full set-up, including warehouse, logistics, IT etc. The assessment was carried out using the Global Compact Assessment Tool published by the UN. In Denmark, China, Singapore and Brazil, the assessment showed 100% compliance with the minimum requirements; we expect full compliance in India and Korea within the coming two years. All sales companies are covered by the assessment in Denmark, while USA and Mexico will be involved in the assessment programme for the first time in 2023. Data ethics DEIF has introduced a data ethics policy that establishes a framework for data ethical conduct and IT safety. The policy sets out guidelines for the collection, use and sharing of data with customers, business partners and employees. DEIF collects, uses and shares data in accordance with current legislation and for legitimate business purposes. We store data safely and work systematically to protect stored data and IT systems against cyber-attacks. DEIF’s products are used in critical infrastructure, and DEIF as a company is therefore comprised by the new EU NIS 2 Directive coming into force in 2024. In 2022, we started the first preparations for ensuring compliance with the new directive, and the activities continue throughout 2023. Furthermore, we are preparing for ISO 27001 certification (IT security management) in 2024. 18
